Voradep caution fans over rowdyism

Accra (Greater Accra) 21 September 2001 - The management of Ho Voradep football clubs, has issued a strong warning to its vociferous fans that it would not condone any act of indiscipline and rowdyism.

A press statement issued from Ho and copied the GNA Sports Desk on Friday, urged the fans to think about the repercussions of such acts, likely to dent the chances of the club from qualifying to the Premier division and causing an embarrassment to the entire team.

"The management of Voradep henceforth warns to deal harshly with any trouble maker and detractors alike", the statement said.

It called on the fans to demonstrate good behaviour in order to make football an enjoyable and interesting game for all.

Meanwhile, the club has also expressed apologise to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for any embarrassment its fans might have caused them.

"We promise the right steps will be taken o address such negative tendencies in future", the statement said.

The statement welcome the GFA's decision to set up a disciplinary committee for referees but said it should be extended to cover match commissioners as well.
