Ibrahim Marshall vows to stop Moyoyo

Accra (Greater Accra) 11 October 2000

Heavyweight boxer, Ibrahim Marshall has vowed to knock out his opponent, Aloyi Moyoyo when they meet in their re-match at the Kaneshie Sports Stadium on November 4.

Marshall told GNA Sports on Tuesday that his first round loss to Moyoyo in their first fight was the result of bad officiating.

He also said he has identified his shot-falls that contributed to his knock down earlier in the round and promised his fans he would rectify them before the next fight.

"Tell my fans not to be discouraged. They must troop in to watch me correct the mistakes that I made in the first fight. I will teach Moyoyo how to box and make him realise that I am a hard puncher too".

Marshall, who said he has stepped up his training in order to peak for the fight, however, lamented the absence of sparring partners.

"I am training very hard for this fight but I am handicapped by lack of sparring partners. All the boxers are afraid to train with me because they are scared I would hurt them".

Ibrahim Marshall, was controversially, kayoed by Aloyi Moyoyo in the first round of their first fight.

The referee stopped the fight when Moyoyo cornered Marshall with a barrage of ineffective punches while Marshall remained very conscious and ready to defend himself.

The Ghana Boxing Board of Control consequently ordered a re-match, which has been packaged by Alhaji Taofik of Shasha Promotions.
