Two tobacco companies to merge

The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) All-Share Index slipped again on Wednesday as Mobil Ghana Limited (MOGL), the seventh equity with the highest market capitalisation lost 90 cedis at mid-week trading.
The All-Share Index, the main market indicator was less by 0.21 points at 762.90 points from 763.11 points. Wednesday's drop represents a further 0.02 per cent drop from Monday's decline of 0.44 points in the All-Share Index.
More than half of the listed equities could not register any trade but the few that changed hands included Aluworks Ghana Limited, which recorded the highest sale of 150,200 shares and Pioneer Aluminium Factory, the only gainer for the day.
Total shares traded closed trading higher at 291,400 shares compared to 138,500 shares traded at the beginning of the week.
Offers were also higher at two million from the previous 1.5 million shares with bids also finishing up at 1.3 million from 435,200 shares.
Market capitalisation closed the day slightly down at 3,243.04 billion cedis as against 3,244.08 billion cedis recorded at Monday's trading.
In the broader market, there were two price changes - one down and one up.
MOGL lost 90 cedis to close trading at 15,900 cedis while PAF gained two cedis at 252 cedis.
