Accra (Greater Accra) 22 November 2001- The GSE-All share Index, the key gauge of the Ghana Stock Exchange, was up a modest 0.42 points at mid-week on Wednesday as three equities made modest gains.
Patterson Zochonis (PZ), Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) and Enterprise Insurance Company (EIC) registered marginal gains to push the index up to finish at 958.04 points, up from 957.62 points at the previous close.
Traded volumes were relatively stronger at 231,900 shares, rising from 15,100 shares on Monday. An advancing GCB, which sold 140,600 shares, led the gainers. Other strong performers were Aluworks with 50,500 shares and PZ 25,200 shares.
On the broader market, there were three price changes - all positive. PZ was up five cedis at 1,010, GCB gained four cedis to close 1,565 cedis and EIC made one cedi at 3,006 cedis. Market capitalisation was slightly stronger at 3,908.09 billion cedis compared to 3,907.28 billion cedis.
