Sasakawa Global 2000, a non-governmental
organisation and the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA), have honoured
Brakwa Breman Rural Bank at Brakwa in the central region for working towards
poverty alleviation in its catchment area.
Sasakawa Global 2000, presented
the bank with a plaque while MOFA awarded it with a certificate in recognition
of the bank's assistance to farmers to increase food production.
The Assistant Manager of the bank,
Mr Fiifi Essel, who received the awards, expressed delight that Sasakawa and
MOFA have recognised the bank's contributions to the improvement of the living
standard of the people.
The citation to the award read:
"You have made the Ghanaian peasant farmer proud, and the Sasakawa Global
2000 and MOA dearly appreciate your partnership in the pursuit of the goals of
food security and enhancing rural livelihood in Ghana."
