Chief and seven others face court for rioting

Eight persons including a chief have appeared before a high court at Goaso in Brong Ahafo on a provisional charge of rioting.

The suspects, who are members of rival private transport associations at Sankore, near Goaso, were granted one million cedis bail each to reappear December 10.

The prosecution had applied for adjournment to enable the police to conduct further investigations into the case.

The suspect, were Nana William Amponsah, Gyasehene of Sankore Traditional Area, Kwaku Gyamfi, Kwadwo Boateng, Stephen Akuwah, Kwame Mintah, Akwasi Donkor and Obiri Yeboah. Their pleas were not taken and the facts of the case were not given.
