All-Share Index records slight gain at mid-week trading

The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) All-Share Index inched up on Wednesday to close mid-week trading at 758.98 points from 758.82 points, after a spate of continuous decline.
The All-Share Index gained 0.16 points bringing the change in year to date to negative 12.59 per cent.
Market indicators, however, closed mid-week trading lower, declining by huge margins compared to figures recorded at the beginning of the week's trading.
Total shares traded finished lower at 50,800 shares compared to the previous high of 2.7 million shares while shares posted on the bourse also closed the day down at 1.3 million from 4.1 million shares.
Demand also closed significantly lower at 95,200 shares from 3.1 million shares.
Market capitalisation went up by a small margin from 3,236.62 billion cedis to 3,236.88 billion cedis.
In the broader market, there were two price changes - Pioneer Aluminium Factory (PAF) gained 20 cedis to close mid-week trading at 290 cedis while Aluworks Company Limited (ALW) lost five cedis at 2,490 cedis.
