Accra (Greater Accra) 20 May 2003- A new religious book which deals with the Lord's Prayer has been launched in Accra with a call on Christians not to rely on their strength, knowledge and wealth alone but to seek God's intervention through prayers to find solution to problems confronting them.
The 33-page book, entitled, 'The Heavenly Secrets of the Lord's Prayer" was authored by Rev. Dr. Frank Kwesi Biney, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mount Horeb Glory Ministries.
It treats the Lord's Prayer into detail and teaches Christians that prayer is not meant for children alone as many people claim but for all mankind. Speaking at the launching, Rev. Dr. Biney noted that although prayer is the only powerful tool, which enables Christians to enjoy divine partnership with God, it is difficult for most Christians to pray daily.
He advised Christians not to only memorise the Lord's Prayer and recite it only during church services but to meditate on the words and know why Jesus taught his disciples to enable prayer to have an impact on their lives.
Rev. Dr. Biney, who has also written four other Christian books advised Christians not to read the Bible alone but also read other relevant materials to enable them to fully understand some of the concepts in the Bible to enable them to be matured Christians.
He said that the Mount Horeb Glory Ministries does not only teach Christians to live spiritual lives but also organise seminars and workshops to equip the unemployed with employable skills.
Rev. Dr. Biney said that the HIV/AIDS is a threat to the survival of mankind and called on pastors to use the pulpit to educate their members to refrain from practices, which would expose them to the disease. He commended the government for adopting measures to contain the disease and advised teachers to join the crusade and educate their pupils about how to avoid contracting the disease.
