Ministry advises exporters to use waybills

Accra (Greater Accra) 31 May 2002 - The Ministry of Trade and Industry on Friday advised overland exporters that the use of waybills is compulsory. The waybills for salt are to be issued by the Ghana Export Promotion Council and in the case of cola nuts by the product associations, it said in a statement issued in Accra.

The statement said all exporters must therefore carry waybills for customs examination. It said foreign nationals who wish to engage in the export of these products must buy through registered exporters who pay taxes to government. They could, on the other hand, be registered in Ghana as Ghanaian or foreign companies operating in Ghana.
