Ace hi-life musician Rex Omar on Wednesday announced that he would soon come out with a new brand of music that would be solely identified as Ghanaian wherever it is played.
In his view, "rap and hip-life music will not take Ghana anywhere." He is therefore coming out with a type of music that is unique, like the music of E. T. Mensah and Kakaiku of yesteryears.
Speaking to the GNA in Accra, Rex Omar said he has been working on the said type of music for the past 10 years, and his releases, including his title tracks, Dangerous, Sa and Lion of Judah, are experimental tracks to his kind of unique African music.
He said the new brand of music would be released in Europe, probably France. He would, however, not disclose the title and the time of its release.
Omar described the music of the West as computer generated that lacks natural rhythm. African music, he said, has the fine natural rhythm that goes smoothly with any kind of dance.
