chief and queenmother introduced to Techimanhene

Osabarima
Dotobibi Takyia-Ameyaw II, Omanhene of Techiman Traditional Area, has called on
his people to rekindle their communal and self-help spirit for the development
of the area.
The
Omanhene also urged them to initiate development projects, to complement
government’s efforts at improving the standards of living of the people.
Osabarima
Takyia-Ameyaw made the call when the new chief and queenmother of New Aboadikro
were introduced to him at his palace on Tuesday.
The new
Chief, Nana Fosu Gyeabour succeeds his late uncle Nana Owusu Acheaw, whilst the
Queenmother, Nana Agyeiwaa Kodia, succeeds her late grandmother, Akosua Donkor.
The
Omanhene noted that unity, co-operation and understanding among the people
could propel them into prosperity.
Osabarima
Takyia-Ameyaw advised the new traditional leaders to dispense justice fairly
and advised the people to co-operate with their chief and Queenmother.
Nana Afia
Abrafi Kotoo, Queenmother of the Techiman Traditional area, urged the new chief
and queenmother to redouble efforts at curbing immoral activities, especially
among the youth.
She also
cautioned them to refrain from acts that could bring the sacred institution of
chieftaincy into disrepute.
Nana
Baffour Asare Twi-Brempong, Adontehene of the area, advised the people to invest
in the education of their children and to help them to acquire qualifications
and skills needed for national development.
Nana Opoku
Abankwah, Krontihene of the area, called on the new chief and queenmother to
regularly consult the elders and other chiefs in the district for direction.
The new
chief and the queenmother promised to serve the people faithfully and asked for
their unflinching co-operation and support.
All the
divisional chiefs of the traditional area attended the ceremony.
