A
Pastor, believed to be one of five armed robbers, who attacked and robbed the
Reverend Father Marek Dabrowski, a Dutch expatriate Father-in-charge of the
Kwahu Tafo Roman Catholic Church, on Friday appeared before a circuit court, at
Mpraeso.
The
plea of Emmanuel Amuzu, of Prophet Revival Church in Accra, was not taken and
has been remanded in prison custody, to re-appear on May 16.
Prosecuting,
Police Inspector Alex Gyamera Acheampong told the court,
presided
over by Mr Charles Gyau Asiedu, that on April 23, Amuzu and four others now on
the run, armed with a gun, cutlasses and a hammer tied the hands of the
watchman of the parish, and broke into Rev. Father Dabrowski's room.
He said
the suspects took away ten million cedis, five thousand Dutche marks, a video
and cameras.
Inspector
Acheampong said the suspects assaulted Rev. Father Dabrowski, using cutlasses,
as a result of which he sustained injuries.
The
suspected armed robbers, also took the ignition keys of two vehicles, at the
parish.
Inspector
Acheampong said Father Dabrowski raised an alarm and Amuzu and his colleagues
bolted.
The
Rev. Father reported the matter to the police at Kwahu Tafo and Amuzu was
arrested, after some days.
Inspector
Acheampong said the police are making efforts to arrest the other four
suspects.
