AITEC ends with mixed reactions

The fourth West African Information
Technology Exhibition and Conference (AITEC) ended on Saturday in Accra with
mixed reactions from the exhibitors and participants on the success or
otherwise of the event. While some described it as successful and impressive,
others said it was sub standard and below expectation.
The three-day exhibition and
conference showcased assorted information technology (IT) products and brought
together 30 local and foreign including those from the United Kingdom, United
States of America, France and South Africa.
Mr. Selassie Gadegbe,
Representative of Margins Company Limited, told GNA that the patronage was good
and new range of computers and other IT products were displayed. He said that a
lot of contacts were made which need follow ups adding that publicity for the
fair was encouraging.
Mr. Leslie Osei, President of
Marles Company Limited, however said that the exhibition was not up to
standard.
He said that foreign participation
was low and suggested that more countries should be encouraged to take part in
future exhibitions.
