Trading opens in a bearish mood

Accra, 18th May 99 -

Trading on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) opened on Monday in a bearish mood as a huge loss by Mobil Ghana Limited (MOGL) pushed the All-Share Index down by 0.46 points to begin the week at 818.22 points.

Market capitalisation was lower at 3,319.61 billion cedis, down from Friday's 3,320.33 billion cedis with total shares traded also finishing lower at 121,400 shares from 400,700.

Offers stood at 2,089,510 shares compared to 2,565,290 posted on Friday while bids finished at 663,600, down from 929,400 shares.

In the broader market, there were three price changes, two losses and a gain.

SSB gained 10 cedis at 1,660 while MOGL and Unilever Ghana Limited (UNIL) lost 200 cedis and 10 cedis to finish trading at 16,800 cedis and 1,740 cedis respectively.
