Reverend S.O. Lamptey, Assistant Superintendent Minister
of the Calvary Baptist Church in Accra has called on Christians to use music as
a modern means of communicating with God.
Rev. Lamptey
made the call at the launch of cassette album dubbed 'Awurade
eei" in
Some of the songs are 'Awurade Ne Me Hann',
'I wanna be Holy' and 'The Lord is my Shepherd'. Rev.
Lamptey said music plays an important role in the
socio-economic development of the country.
"It is used to support, it
is used to educate, it is used to comfort and it is used to encourage", he
added. Edward Kwaku Asare,
Music Director of the union, said the union launched the album to enable them
to generate funds for its activities. The first copy was auctioned for four
million cedis.
