Michael Kojo a 22-year old musician, who
pleaded guilty to having unnatural sex with a 13-year old boy, was imprisoned
for eight years by an Accra Circuit court on Tuesday.
The tribunal chaired by Mr. Justice Charles
Nyewolema heard that in April, this year, the accused spotted the victim
returning home from school and sent him to buy iced water.
When he returned, Michael lured him to send the
water into his room where he gagged him with a handkerchief, stripped him naked
and forcibly had anal sex with him.
After the act, he threatened the victim with
death if he disclosed it to his mother.
But on
May 24, the victim's mother got wind of the incident and confronted her son who
confirmed it.

Frank Yaw Benneh, a former diplomat, charged
with dealing in narcotic drugs while at post in Geneva, Switzerland, on Tuesday
told an Accra Regional Tribunal trying him that he is bereaved and needs some
time for the funeral of a family member.
Benneh who has denied the charge, said through
his attorney, Mr. Ray Kakraba-Quarshie, that in as much as he respected the tribunal,
he has to break the news in order to be granted enough time to be part of the
family that would plan the burial of the deceased.
Mr. Justice George Wright Mensah, who chaired
the tribunal, granted Benneh two weeks and adjourned the case to June 13.
Following the adjournment, the tribunal could
not fix a date at its sitting on Tuesday for judgement as it announced earlier.
Mr. Martin Amidu, Deputy Attorney-General, had
earlier made his final oral submission and to which Mr. Kakraba-Quarshie
replied.
