All-Share Index sustains gains

 

Accra (Greater Accra) 23 July 2002- The market index of the Accra bourse opened the week higher by 4.34 points, although less than 40,000 shares changed hands.

 

The GSE All-Share Index ended at 1,251 points from 1,247.56 points. Three equities made gains during trading with seven companies selling shares.

 

However, Unilever, which sold only 14,900 shares, registered the highest sale for the day. Other companies that sold shares were AGC, 200, Aluworks 11,200, Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) 800, Patterson Zochonis (PZ) 8,000, Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) 200 and SSB Bank (SSB), 4,200.

 

PZ went up by 50 cedis at 1,800 cedis, SCB rose by 49 cedis at 21,801 cedis and Unilever climbed by 99 cedis at 3,950 cedis.

 

Market capitalisation closed higher at 4,746.33 billion cedis from 4,737.88 billion cedis.
