Ashanti Goldfields Bibiani Limited (AGBL) has won this year's Chief Executive's mines safety award.
Presenting the award at Bibiani at the weekend, Mr Sam Jonah, Chief Executive of Ashanti Goldfields Company (AGC), commended AGBL for producing 20,000 ounces of gold so far.
He advised the workers to exercise their franchise in the forthcoming general election to elect people capable of representing their interests.
Mr Daniel Owiredu, Managing Director of AGBL, said the success made was through the collective efforts of the entire workforce and asked them not to rest on their oars but work harder to achieve greater heights.
