Soccer- Kotoko players get awards

The management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko presented awards to three of its players at the Kotoko Secretariat in Kumasi on Wednesday.

Each of the players, Prince Adu-Poku, George Siaw and Frank Atsu, a Togolese international, received a sound system (Ghetto blaster), donated by a sponsor, who wishes to remain anonymous.

Mr Jarvis Peprah, Director of Operations of Kotoko, whopresented the awards, said it formed part of the scheme initiated by Mr Herbert Mensah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kotoko to reward dedicated and disciplined players, who put up spectacular performances during matches.

Coach Aboubacar Ouattara said the award winners were selected during the Kotoko matches against Afienya, All Blacks and Power F/C.

Skipper Adu-Poku on behalf of his colleagues, thanked the management for instituting the awards scheme and said it would inspire the players to perform better.

He appealed to the supporters to bear with the playersin view of their recent reverses and gave the assurance that the players are determined to do well in the league.
