Breman Essiam celebrates Akwanbo festival

The chiefs and people of Breman Essiam Traditional area in the Central region will celebrate their annual Akwanbo festival from Saturday, July 31 to Sunday, August 15.

Nana Atta Poku Amanafo 11, vice-president of the Central Regional House of Chiefs and Omanhene of the area announced this at a traditional council meeting at Breman Essiam on Saturday.

Nana Amanafo commended the chiefs for settling all chieftaincy disputes in their respective communities and appealed to non-resident citizens to attend the festival to help draw a five-year development programme for the area.

The traditional council confirmed the enstoolment of Opanin Kobena Nyamekye as the Tufohene of the area.

Mr James Koranteng Dodo, assembly member for Twafo electoral area said the festival would be rounded off on Sunday, August 31 with a rally to raise funds to finance an electrification project and on going projects.
