GSE continues its slow start

 

Accra (Greater Accra) 17 January 2002 - The slow start of the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) continued on Wednesday as it marked time again with none of the 22 equities recording any price change.

 

The GSE All-Share Index, the main market indicator, which had changed only once since the year began, remained on 956.44 points.

 

Change for the year was also static at 0.05 points and market capitalisation remained at 3,904.98 billion cedis.

 

Total shares traded shifted down at from 192,900 on Monday to 95,000 on Wednesday with Aluworks selling the highest of 31,700 and Ashanti Goldfields Limited selling the least of 200 shares.  The following are the closing prices of the equities in cedis:
