Guinness Golf in Kumasi

The 25th annual Guinness Open Golf championship tees off at the Kumasi Golf Course from Saturday, February 10 to Sunday, February 11.

A spokesman for the Kumasi Golf Club, said in Accra on Monday, that the two-day 18-hole greensome stableford competition is open to amateur and professional golfers in Ghana.

He said, the competition which is expected to attract over 200 golfers, would be opened to handicap 24 and below for Ladies and Men.

The Professionals 36-hole scratch event, starts on Friday, February nine and ends on Sunday February 11.

Among crack golfers who have registered their participation from Achimota Golf Club, are Nana Atta Nyamekye, the Captain, E.Y. G. Kumordzie, Richard Darko, F.O. Mills, Francis Agbemor and Peter Ocran.

Mr Frank Damali, Marketing Director of Guinness Ghana Limited said his company would present very attractive prizes for this year's competition.

Mr Prince Agyemang, Captain of Kumasi Golf Club said the Club has put the "greens" in tip-top condition to ensure a very high standard of play.

Mr. Devlin Hainsworth, Managing Director of Guinness Ghana Limited will do the presentation to deserving winners.
