Ghana Stock Exchange opens year trading

Ghana's stock index on Tuesday opened the year's trading with a 1.48 points gain from significant gains in the share price of Aluworks Ghana Limited (ALW) and SSB Bank (SSB).
The two are the only ones that traded a paltry 31,800 shares from a total of 496,386 shares posted on the bourse.
Demand opened the year at 256,700 and the change in the year is 0.17 per cent. Market capitalisation closed the trading at 3,657.84 billion cedis.
In the broader market, there were two price changes - all positive. ALW gained 150 cedis at 4,500 cedis while SSB made 10 cedis at 2,050 cedis.
