We would support educational review -MPs
Accra (Greater Accra) 02 February 2002 - MPs on Friday, commended the efforts of the government to review the educational reform programme and said it was an opportunity to help in making education delivery match national goals, aspirations and pride.
Mr James Adusei-Sarkodie, NPP-Atwima-Nwabiagya, had whipped up support in a statement in the house and commended President Kufuor for setting up a 29 Member-committee to review the educational system to make it responsive to current challenges.
The committee chaired by Professor Joseph Anamoah-Mensah, started work on Thursday and would conclude its assignment within four months.
It would review the first, second and tertiary cycles of education and related areas and visit the regions to interact with the people.
Most MPs from the northern parts of the country called for a policy to remove the disparity between schools in the area and the South.
