A 50 year old farmer of Kasoa in the Central region whose wife caught him defiling their 13-year-old house-help today told a circuit court that he is in love with the girl and would like to take her as a wife.
Kofi Lomotey is before the court charged with defilement of a 13 year-old girl.
The plea of the accused was not taken and he has been remanded in prison custody to reappear next Tuesday, February 22.
Prosecuting, Ms Comfort Buabeng told the court presided over by Mr. Justice Richardson that the victim lives with the accused and the wife as house-help at Kasoa.
On January 24, this year, while the accused was sleeping with the wife, he sneaked to the hall where the victim was sleeping.
Ms Buabeng told the court that the "moans and grunts" of the victim, made the wife to wake up only to find the husband having sex with the little girl.
During interrogation, the accused admitted the offence saying that was not the first time and that he had on four previous occasions made love with the girl.
When asked by the court to explain his action, the accused said he is in love with the girl and would want to marry her if the parents would allow him.
