Cinematograph Board expresses concern about sale of uncensored films
Accra (Greater Accra) 3 Feb. 2000
The Cinematograph Board of Control said on Thursday that it has observed with grave concern the increasing sale of uncensored films from neighbouring countries in the country.
A statement signed by the Chief Director of the Ministry of Communications, Mr Ben C. Eghan in Accra said the board was cautioning distributors and exhibitors of such films to ensure that they are duly censored and classified before being exhibited.
The statement also said video rental libraries were being given up to the end of March to pay their annual licence fees.
It said as from 1 April a task force would move out to secure payment or mete out appropriate penalties.
