Investment Fair ends at Swedru

Exhibitors at the Trade and Investment Fair at Agona Swedru, have called on the government to institute an Entrepreneurs Day just like Teachers and Farmers Day.

Entrepreneurs have done a lot to sustain the economy and deserve recognition, Mr. John Abloderpey of Mawuli Technicals said.

Speaking at the closing of the fair, he said that "A day set aside to honour deserving entrepreneurs would motivate us to contribute more to sustain the economy."

The week-long fair dubbed "Central zone one EXPO 99" was organised jointly by the Agona, Awutu-Effutu-Senya and Gomoa districts to show-case the investment potentials of the area.

An exhibitor, Miss Mary Foh called for the setting up a team to monitor performances of entrepreneurs and to assist them to improve their products.

Lt. Daniel Osardu, Awutu-Effutu-Senya District Chief Executive, assured the exhibitors that training programmes would be organised for them to improve their businesses.

He advised them to use local materials in their activities.

Mr John Antwi Boateng, Fair Co-ordinator, commended the exhibitors for the quality of goods exhibited.
