Gomoa Fetteh (Central Region) 29 August 2001 - The Chiefs and people of Gomoa Fetteh in the Central Region at the weekend celebrated the Akwanbo festival for the first time in seven years.
The festival, which has not been marked since 1994 due to a chieftaincy dispute attracted a large number of visitors especially on Sunday when the ancestral stool "Kwesi Dadzie" was paraded through the principal streets.
Nana Abor Yamoah II, chief of the town called on the people to bury their differences and to forge ahead in unity for the development of the community.
He said they could only harness their human and material resources to improve their standard of living when there is peace and stability. Nana Yamoah invited the factions in the dispute to join hands and work for the development of the town.
