In the hockey, OAU beat University of Cape Coast (UCC) 2-0 to clinch the title. Both goals were scored in the first half through prolific goal scorer, Sunday Osudosu, in the 13th and 24th minutes.
UG won the third place by beating KNUTS 1-0. Edward Nanigne scored the only goal of the match through a penalty in the 10th minute.
Dan Abotsi of UG was adjudged the best soccer player of the one-week tournament in which 16 universities from 16 West African countries participated.
Mr Joe Aggrey, Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports, praised the participants for their sportsmanship throughout the games.
