Stock market opens week on positive note

The stock market on Monday opened trading on a positive note with the market index gaining 6.75 points as a result of big gains by two equities.
The market index, the GSE All-Share Index, closed the day's trading higher at 790.12 points compared to last Friday's closing of 783.37 points.
Total shares traded were, however, lower at 166,200 from 236,800 shares, even though, investors bid for 1,023,300 shares. Bids closed on Friday at 288,600 shares.
Offers slid significantly from 2.1 million shares to 1.7 million shares but market capitalisation finished higher at 3,283.28 billion cedis compared to Friday's close of 3,272.66 billion cedis.
In the broader market, there were three price changes - two up and one down.
Unilever Ghana Limited (UNIL) gained 150 cedis to finish trading at 1,950 cedis while Aluworks Company Limited made 100 cedis at 2,600 cedis.
Super Paper Products Company (SPPC), the only loser was down nine cedis to close trading at 180 cedis.
