Carpenter jailed for defilement

Accra (Greater Accra) 3 August '99

Ahmed Senam Accorley, a carpenter apprentice, who defiled his master's two daughters, aged five and three years was on Monday sentenced to seven years' imprisonment by a circuit tribunal in Accra.

Accorley, 18, pleaded not guilty to five counts of defilement.

The prosecution said on July 14, Accorley, was sent by his master to collect the two young girls from school.

The prosecution said one of the victims complained to her father that anytime Accorley brought them home from school, he would enter their room and sexually assaulted her.

The Prosecution said the complainant confronted Accorley, who allegedly admitted the offence.

He, therefore, reported him to the Women and Juvenile Unit of the Police.
