Stock Exchange opens week stronger

Accra (Greater Accra) 8 April 

The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) opened trading stronger on Wednesday after the Easter holidays but in an unimpressive session which saw only one equity appreciating.

The GSE All-Share Index went up by 0.45 points to close at 827.82. It had lost 4.25 in the last trading session to close at 827.37 points.

The SSB Bank was the only gainer with a 10-cedi gain at 1,800.

Market capitalisation was higher at 3,334.71 billion cedis from the previous 3,333.24 billion cedis. Offers were lower at 3,770,340 compared to 4,064,960 posted in the last session.

Volume of shares traded was higher at 86,200 from 29,200 with bids also closing higher from the previous 487,000 to 510,000.
